Have you found yourself feeling stale and going through the motions with your clients? Have you lost that creative fire? Join Derick Tsai, Creative Director of content development studio Magnus Rex, as he explores these topics for an evening entitled RE:INVENTION. Derick will share the story of his friend who reinvented the way he created art to combat paralysis brought on by ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) and how that inspired him and a group of others to create the work that have reinvented their careers in ways they’ve never dreamed of. This event will be perfect for anyone who has a hit a plateau and wants to recharge their creativity and begin to see their career in a new light.
Bio: Derick Tsai founded Magnus Rex Studio as an attempt to push past his own self-imposed boundaries and turn his personal creative potential into reality. That founding spirit has continued as Magnus Rex has gone on to develop content for film, TV, gaming and the web for clients such as Marvel, Nike and The History Channel. In 2013 Magnus Rex debuted RE:INVENT, an original book about career and creative reinvention at San Diego Comic Con 2013. On November 24th, 2013 he gave a TED talk @TEDxYouth@SanDiego on the story behind the making of the RE:INVENT. Derick is currently speaking around the country and developing his project Mythika as an episodic animation and graphic novel.
